Not really. This isn’t going to be a “blog” in the traditional sense, I’m not planning to write fancy insights or maintain a strict schedule. It’s more of a personal archive where I can document things I’m learnng and ideas I want to revisit later.
What to expect
I spend most my days working various geospatial data and the tools that tie them together, so I guess that’s what I’ll mainly post about.
Some things I want to play around with in the near-term:
- Geospatial AI and foundation models (AlphaEarth Foundations is very interesting, would like to play with Tessera and some object-detection models too)
- Cloud-native formats (STAC, COGs, GeoParquet, Zarr): I’m currently playing around with the Google Satellite Embeddings GeoZarr mosaic
- Distributed processing (Spark, Ray, Dask), and Frisky looks really interesting too
- Building web apps to visualise geospatial data
- Open-source tooling and Python packaging like

I won’t exclusively focus on these things, if there’s something interesting I’d like to explore then I’ll probably cover it (I’ve got an eye on some Formula 1 analysis at some point).
Frequency
Whenever I get the time, can be bothered or want to play with something fun.
